Introducing the IGEL License Portal (ILP)
The IGEL License Portal (ILP) is the cloud-based platform for managing all IGEL software licenses and subscriptions.
It provides a central location to maintain and manage your licensing environment and connects to your IGEL Customer Portal account structure, giving you full transparency and control over license assignments and subscription renewals.
Within the ILP, licenses are organized into Product Packs. These Product Packs can be assigned to the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) using a UMS ID, enabling centralized license deployment and management across your environment.
The UMS requests the connection details (URL and port) from the IGEL download server at fwus.igel.com and then contacts the IGEL licensing server. Currently, the connection details are as follows:
URL: susi.igel.com
Port: 443
For more information, see UMS Contacting the Licensing Server
What You Can Do in the ILP
The IGEL License Portal provides a single platform for managing your entire licensing environment.
In the ILP, you can:
View all available Product Packs and their details
How to Assign a Product Pack to a UMS ID in the ILP (UMS IDs appear automatically when a Customer Portal account is linked)
How to Split an IGEL Product Pack or How to Merge IGEL Product Packs in the IGEL License Portal Product Packs when license allocation needs to change
Review subscription statuses and How to Renew a Subscription in the IGEL License Portal (ILP) timelines
How to Review the Assigned Product Packs in the ILP or How to View and Download Reports in the IGEL License Portal
Perform additional actions such as How to Add a Comment to a Product Pack in the ILP , How to Unassign a Product Pack from the UMS ID in the ILP , or How to Edit the UMS ID in the ILP
How the ILP Fits Into the IGEL Environment
The ILP works together with the IGEL Customer Portal, but each system has a different role:
Customer Portal
Used for:
Company management
User and role administration
Access control
UMS ID registration
ILP
Used for:
Managing Product Packs
Assigning Product Packs to the correct UMS IDs
Reviewing license usage
Preparing for renewals
Downloading license files when needed
Next Steps
There is no user management or UMS ID registration process in the new ILP. UMS IDs are registered in the IGEL Customer Portal and appear automatically in ILP. For details, see Working with UMS IDs in the IGEL Licensing Portal.
User permissions are also managed through the IGEL Customer Portal. For details, see First Steps with IGEL License Portal.
If you already have access to ILP, continue with the Overview of the IGEL License Portal .
