1. Set up the new database, e.g. a Microsoft SQL Server Cluster.

    Use the relevant DBMS program to configure the database. The configuration for setting up the data source and the connection to the database should be carried out in the UMS Administrator.
  2. Enter this database instance as a data source for the existing UMS Server.
  3. Copy the active (embedded DB) data source to the new one (SQL Server Cluster).
  4. Activate the new data source. See Activating a Data Source.
