There are two possibilities to forward the connection between the card reader and the server-side session:

Only one connection method can be active at a given time; please ensure that either the virtual channels or the Cherry USB2LAN proxy is enabled, but not both at the same time.
  • USB virtual channel (IGEL Linux v5 only)
  • Cherry USB2LAN proxy (IGEL Linux version 5.12.100 and IGEL Linux version 10.03.100 onwards): Makes Cherry electronic health card devices available in the network via SICCT. The communication between card reader and server takes place outside the ICA or RDP connection.

    For USB2Lan Proxy to work properly, firmware version 1.1.5.14 must be installed on the Cherry G87-1504 keyboard.

Configuring the Thin Client for an RDP Session

  1. Make sure that Security > Smartcard > Services > Cherry USB2LAN Proxy is deactivated:

  2. Select the following options at Sessions > RDP > RDP Global > Mapping > Device Support:

  1. Make sure that Security > Smartcard > Services > Cherry USB2LAN Proxy is deactivated.

  2. Select the following option at Sessions > Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp > HDX / ICA Global > Mapping > Device Support:

  1. Make sure that the appropriate virtual channels are deactivated:
    • For RDP sessions: Sessions > RDP > RDP Global > Mapping > Device Support > Cherry Channel 0 for reading German eGK-KVK with ST-1503 / G87-1504 and Cherry Channel 1 for reading German eGK-KVK with ST-1503 / G87-1504

    • For ICA (Citrix) sessions: Sessions > Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp > HDX / ICA Global > Mapping > Device Support > Cherry Channel for reading German eGK-KVK with ST-1503 / G87-1504

  2. Activate Security > Smartcard > Services > Cherry USB2LAN Proxy:

  1. Install the eGK-KVK software by Cherry.

  2. Start the program CT-API configuration.
  3. Select Terminal Server Mode.
  4. Select port number 1.
