Mass Upgrading Your Devices

There are several methods to upgrade a device from IGEL Linux 5 to IGEL Linux 10. The following methods are considered to be best practice:

• Zero-Touch Deployment Using the Universal Firmware Update
  This is the preferred method. It supports zero-touch deployment of a random number of devices.

• Using the Buddy Update
  With this method, two thin clients are used as download servers for the thin clients that are to be upgraded.

  

  The buddy update method can only be used if FTP is allowed in the network containing your devices.
