New Features 11.08.110

VMware Horizon

  • Added system-wide handler to start links which use the vmware-view protocol.
View session can now be started by Chromium or any other application which uses xdg-open.

Chromium

  • Added list and dictionary support for custom policies.

Smartcard

  • Added support for Cherry eHealth ST-1506 in USB RNDIS mode. There is a systray icon per device. The tooltip says whether it is connected or disconnected in terms of network configuration. Per device, one instance of the template
devices.cherry.terminal% must be created and configured. By default, none is configured and so the feature is essentially disabled.
  • This is for potentially distinguishing multiple connected devices and may contain a MAC address or the value of the udev property ID_NET_NAME_PATH. It may be left empty if only one device shall be supported:

    ParameterDevice ID
    Registrydevices.cherry.terminal%.rndis.device_id
    Typestring
    Valueempty (Default)
    ParameterDevice IP address
    Registrydevices.cherry.terminal%.rndis.device_ipaddress
    Typestring
    Value192.168.42.42 (Default)
    ParameterHost IP address
    Registrydevices.cherry.terminal%.rndis.host_ipaddress
    Typestring
    Value192.168.42.1 (Default)
  • This port on the host will be passed through to the same port on the device:

    ParameterDevice TCP port
    Registrydevices.cherry.terminal%.rndis.device_tcpport
    Typestring
    Value4742 (Default)
  • This port on the host will be passed through to the same port on the device:

    ParameterPassed through device UDP port
    Registrydevices.cherry.terminal%.rndis.device_udpport
    Typestring
    Value4742 (Default)
  • This port on the host will be forwarded to the device's port 443:

    ParameterHost SSL port
    Registrydevices.cherry.terminal%.rndis.host_sslport
    Typestring
    Valueempty (Default)

  • Added support for concurrent usage of multiple smartcard middleware libraries for authentication with smartcard to Active Directory / Kerberos and Citrix.
In the Setup on page Security > Smartcard > Middleware, multiple libraries can be activated. If none is activated, OpenSC is taken as fallback.

Cisco Webex

  • Integrated WebEx VDI Client 42.6.0.22645

Base System

  • Added LVFS utility for BIOS update. For detailed instructions, see BIOS Update for Devices Supported by LVFS.

Please note: IGEL supports just the mechanism – BIOS updates are executed at own risk (as usual).

ParameterAllow installation of bios version that's older than current.
    Registryfwtools.bios_tools.allow_downgrade
    Valueenabled / disabled
ParameterAllow installation of bios version that's equivalent to current.
    Registryfwtools.bios_tools.allow_reinstall
    Valueenabled / disabled
  • Added parameter for LVFS BIOS update:

IGEL SetupSystem > Firmware Customization > Features
    ParameterBIOS Tools
    Registryservices.bios_tools.enabled
    Valueenabled / disabled
    ParameterBIOS Update file
    Registryfwtools.bios_tools.bios_update_file
    Valueempty (Default)
    Note

The URL or path to the BIOS Update binary must be entered here (e.g. any *.cab file for LVFS).

LVFS BIOS Updates can be downloaded at https://fwupd.org/lvfs/.

  • Download credentials:

    ParameterDownload Username
    Registryfwtools.bios_tools.bios_download_username
    Valueempty (Default)
    ParameterDownload Password
    Registryfwtools.bios_tools.bios_download_crypt_password
    Valueempty (Default)
  • Known issue: No support for BIOS password handling.

  • Added a Generic Device Command "BIOS - Trigger update" to trigger BIOS updates via UMS.
  • Added new registry key to disable DisplayPort MST support of amdgpu driver:

ParameterDisable DP MST support of the AMDPU DRM driver.
    Registryx.drivers.amdgpu.disable_dp_mst_support
