Preparing the UMS for the Buddy Upgrade

To upgrade your devices to IGEL OS 11, you need the appropriate version of the UMS. Also, the devices must be registered with the UMS to receive their licenses. 

1. If you have not already done so, update your UMS to version 6.01.130 or higher. For instructions, see Universal Management Suite > UMS Reference Manual > UMS Installation and Update > IGEL UMS Update.
   

2. Make sure that your devices are registered with the UMS. For more information, see the chapter Universal Management Suite > UMS Reference Manual > Registering IGEL OS Devices on the UMS Server.

When the UMS is ready, continue with Adjusting the Setup Before the Buddy Update.
