Roles and Permissions

To each user account in the IGEL License Portal, a role is assigned. There are three roles: administrator, service provider, and user. In the following, the permissions of each role is listed.

Administrator

The administrator is permitted to perform the following actions:

• Invite a user to a company; see Inviting a User to Your Company and Withdrawing an Invitation.
• Remove a user from a company; see Removing a User from Your Company.
• Change the role of a user; see Changing the Role of a User.
• Register a Delivery Token, which is required for getting licenses; see How-Tos for IGEL Software Licenses.
• Renew a subscription; see Renewing a Maintenance.
• Move licenses between Product Packs; see Moving Licenses between Product Packs.
• Move licenses between devices; see License Portability.
• Split a Product Pack; see Splitting an IGEL Product Pack.
• Add a comment to a Product Pack; see Adding a Comment to a Product Pack.
• Manage and configure the UMS ID, which is used by Automatic License Deployment (ALD); see Working with the UMS ID.

Service Provider

The service provider is permitted to perform the following actions:

• Register a Delivery Token, which is required for getting licenses; see How-Tos for IGEL Software Licenses.
• Renew a subscription; see Renewing a Maintenance.
• Move licenses between Product Packs; see Moving Licenses between Product Packs.
• Move licenses between devices; see License Portability.
• Split a Product Pack; see Splitting an IGEL Product Pack.
• Add a comment to a Product Pack; see Adding a Comment to a Product Pack.
• Manage and configure the UMS ID, which is used by Automatic License Deployment (ALD); see Working with the UMS ID.

User

The user is permitted to view all the Product Packs in the IGEL License Portal, but cannot perform any actions on them.
