A snapshot is an image of the first partition (drive C:) which contains the base operating system (Windows 7 or Windows 10 - refer to prerequisites). You can use this image either for system restoration or for distribution to other Windows systems that are equipped with the same hardware. 

The web server of the IGEL Universal Management Suite can be used to create and install snapshots. Further information can be found in the UMS Manual under Universal Firmware Update.

Prerequisites

UMA Snapshot Feature is supported on the following platforms:

  • 64-Bit CPU
  • Legacy BIOS, UEFI BIOS
  • Windows 7 (32-Bit, 64-Bit), Windows Embedded Standard 7 (32-Bit, 64-Bit, FBWF), Windows 10 (32-Bit, 64-Bit), Windows 10 IoT Enterprise (32-Bit,64-Bit, UWF)
  • At least 1.5 GB free disk space on System (Windows) partition
  • Standard Microsoft Windows Partition Layout (Legacy BIOS) + "boot" partition = "system" partition
  • Standard Microsoft Winodws Partition Layout (UEFI BIOS)
