Exporting and Importing Printer Settings

Issue

How can I configure a printer in my W10 device using the local IGEL Setup or IGEL Universal Management Suite?

Solution

Prerequisite:

A printer has already been installed to the system via Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.

Printer configuration in IGEL Setup or UMS:

1. Go to Devices > Printer > Printer > .
2. Specify the exact Printer name and
   • either configure your printer settings
   • or specify path to a printer settings file.

Export the current printer configuration:

1. Open a local shell (command prompt) on the device.
2. Execute command
   rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /Ss /n "PRINTERNAME" /a "SETTINGSFILE"

Example: rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /Ss /n "hp deskjet 940c series" /a hp_settings.dat
