How to Remove Duplicate Devices in the IGEL License Portal
When IGEL OS is reinstalled or deployed multiple times on the same physical endpoint, it can result in duplicate hardware entries across Product Packs. This can lead to incorrect license usage, confusing Product Pack inventories, or unnecessary subscription consumption.
ILP provides a built-in cleanup tool that allows administrators to quickly locate devices that appear more than once and remove duplicate entries with a single action.
Accessing All Devices (Across All Product Packs)
You can view all hardware registered in your ILP account using the global search bar:
Log in to IGEL Customer Portal at https://support.igel.com/csm and open the ILP. The dashboard is shown.
At the top of the page, use the search bar.

Click the blue drop-down menu (default: All).
Select Devices from the dropdown.
ILP will now display all devices across all Product Packs, including:
Hardware value (MAC / Flash Serial)
Hardware type
Product Pack ID
Date added
Duplicated attribute
How to Identify Duplicated Devices
ILP automatically flags hardware entries that appear more than once.
1. Via the “Duplicated” Column
In the device list, each entry contains a Duplicated attribute:
True → The device exists in more than one Product Pack
False → No duplicates detected
2. Via the “Remove duplicates” Button
If any device in the list is duplicated, ILP shows a blue button at the top: Remove duplicates
If there are no duplicates detected, this button does not appear.

When to Perform a Cleanup
Use the cleanup tool when:
You see unexpected license usage
Devices appear multiple times across Product Packs
Reports show inconsistent hardware counts
You recently reimaged or migrated IGEL OS devices
Running cleanup regularly helps keep licensing data clean and prevents issues during renewals.
Removing Duplicate Hardware
When duplicates exist, you can clean them up in one step.
Steps
Tip: You can also filter devices by entering a MAC address directly into the search bar. It will return all matching hardware entries across all Product Packs.
In the device list, click Remove duplicates.

A confirmation dialog appears:

Cancel → Aborts the action
Yes, proceed → Starts the cleanup
All duplicate entries are removed. After the removal, ILP only keeps the first (oldest) registered hardware/device.
Once completed:
Only the original hardware entry remains
All additional entries (2nd, 3rd, etc.) are removed from their Product Packs
The Duplicated attribute for that hardware changes from True to False
What ILP Removes (and What It Keeps)
ILP Keeps
The original/oldest hardware identifier
Its Product Pack assignment
Its license association
ILP Removes
All additional identifiers for the same device
Their Product Pack assignments
Duplicate license allocations created by repeated OS installations
This ensures that only one license remains assigned per physical device.
Post-Cleanup Effects
Once duplicates are removed:
Product Packs display the correct device count
License usage reports become accurate
Subscription consumption is corrected
The “Duplicated” attribute becomes False
The device continues to operate normally with the remaining active license
