Setting up VMware Blast Sessions

IGEL supports the VMware Blast protocol in IGEL Linux version 5.10.100, or newer and version 10.01.100 or newer. This document describes how to configure client sessions for it.

Prerequisites

• IGEL Linux version 5.10.100 or newer or version 10.01.100 or newer
• Licensed IGEL Multimedia Codec Pack
• IGEL UD device offering hardware video acceleration, see the FAQ Hardware Video Acceleration on IGEL OS.
• VMware Horizon 7 Server

Activating VMware Blast

1. In Setup, go to System > Firmware Customization > Features.
2. Enable Hardware Video Acceleration.
3. Go to Sessions > Horizon Client > Horizon Client Global > Server Options.
4. Set Preferenced desktop protocol to VMware Blast.
