Menu path: Setup > System > Update > Snapshots > Upload

Here, you can create a snapshot of the current system.

  • Leave domain before snapshot: Enable this option if the snapshot file is to be ported to another thin client.

    The thin client will be taken from the domain before the snapshot is created.

  • Protocol: Protocol with which the snapshot file is uploaded to a server or saved in a local directory.
    Possible values:
    • ftp
    • http
    • https
    • file: The snapshot file will be saved locally, e.g. on a USB storage device.

    The storage device must be formatted with the FAT 32 file system;, from IGEL Windows Embedded Standard 7 Version 3.12.100, NTFS too is supported. At least 4 GB of free space must be available on the storage device.

    Before uploading, create the path \igel\snapshots. To do this, you can use the Prepare USB Device button. To create the snapshot, specify the file name only.
  • Server: Host name or IP address of the server to which the snapshot file will be uploaded
  • Port: Port of the server to which the snapshot file will be uploaded
  • Path: Directory path on the server under which the snapshot file is saved
  • File name: File name for the snapshot file
  • Name of Firmware for new Snapshot: This name appears in its own field in the IGEL UMS; this is supported from UMS Version 5.02.100.
  • Username: User name for the server to which the snapshot file will be uploaded
  • Password: Password for the server to which the snapshot file will be uploaded
  • Proxy: Host name or IP address of the proxy
  • Port: Port of the proxy
  • Prepare USB device: Deletes all data on the USB device and creates the directory \igel\snapshots.
  • New Snapshot: Creates the snapshot file and saves it under the specified path.
