If Use password is enabled in the Administrator area under Security > Password, you need to enter the administrator password to access a local terminal as root
.
If an administrator password is set, accessing a local terminal as user
is only possible if the following two conditions are met:
- Access to local terminals has been activated for
user
. This is possible with the registry key system.security.usershell
under System > Registry. The default setting of the registry key forbids terminal access for user
. - Use password is enabled in the User area under Security > Password.
For accessing a local terminal as user
, the user password has to be entered.
