With a maintenance model, the customer acquires the first license for an initial product fee which includes an initial maintenance period of either 1 or 3 years. Later the customer can purchase 1 or 3-year renewals for his maintenance at a lower rate.

A valid maintenance entitles the customer to

  • initially activate the maintenance in the IGEL License Portal at https://activation.igel.com, which starts the maintenance period,
  • use the latest product release and its predecessors,
  • obtain Select support for the product from the IGEL Help Desk.

An IMI license is tied to a specific UMS installation, be it one host or a cluster, by the unique Cluster ID. This assignment is established when the license is created in the IGEL License Portal.

UMA and UDC3 licenses are tied to the MAC address of the primary network interface of a device. This assignment is established when the license is created in the IGEL License Portal.
