IGEL for Windows (formerly “IGEL Azure Virtual Desktop”) is a cloud-based desktop and app virtualization service that runs on the Azure cloud and lets users access Windows desktops and applications securely from IGEL OS devices.

IGEL Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) app has been redesigned and renamed to “IGEL for Windows”. IGEL for Windows app combines AVD and Windows 365 CloudPC access in one app and can be downloaded on the IGEL App Portal.
Note the following:

IGEL for Windows is fully compatible with IGEL AVD. This means that the existing AVD sessions and settings will still work and the UMS profiles created for IGEL AVD app will automatically apply to IGEL for Windows app. No app reselection in the existing UMS profiles for IGEL AVD is required.

Registry keys remain unchanged and are still “apps > avd”.

IGEL for Windows app replaces IGEL Windows 365 app. Therefore, if you are using IGEL Windows 365 app, it is necessary to import IGEL for Windows app to your IGEL UMS, create new profiles based on this app and assign them to your devices.
