Primary Authentication Using Fingerprint (IAFI 1.4.0+)

Starting with the latest IAFI release, IGEL OS provides support for Imprivata fingerprint authentication over the Virtual Channel (VC). This enables organizations to offer a fast and secure biometric authentication flow similar to Imprivata PIE.

Supported Fingerprint Readers

IAFI currently supports Imprivata EPCS-certified readers only. Devices of the following vendors are allowed:

• EIKON

• UPEK

• DIGITAL PERSONAS

Fingerprint Login Tile

IAFI adds a dedicated fingerprint authentication tile on the login screen, similar to the PIE agent.

The Virtual Channel (VC) for fingerprint is implemented from IAFI 1.5.0.
